The EK43 has become synonymous with coffee grinding precision, and a long time friend of the specialty coffee industry.
This is the latest version of the EK43 (Standard version) with Turkish Burrs, is the ultimate in espresso coffee grinders.
Updates include an improved on/off switch and rubber seal between the motor and the stand.
With or without updates, it remains the most capable grinder for ultra uniform grind.
What is the EK43 T (Turkish Burrs)?
The EK43 T is a commercial precision grinder that was originally built for grinding spices, but found itself being a key component in the speciality coffee industry after it showed how high a quality grind it was capable of; arguably better than any other grinder in the industry.
This is the latest standard height version. Updates include an improved on/off switch and rubber seal between the motor and the stand.
What's the build quality like?
It is amazingly well built, produced from cast steel and weighs in at 24KG. It has very few actual controls, making it very easy to use and clean. The front facing dial is easy to use and simple but very effective.
but most importantly provides amazing grind quality and distribution with little or no waste. If you’re looking for a precision espresso and / or brew methods, this is officially as good as it gets.
Who is it suited to?
The Mahlkonig EK43 T (Turkish Burrs) is perfect for speciality cafes serving espresso coffee, but can double as retail grinder too.
For precision espresso brewing, the Mahlkonig EK43 has taken things to the next level. If you're looking for a grinder that can deliver exceptional results, with an ultimately class 1 uniform grind with little or no grind retention, then the EK43 is probably what you are looking for.
EK43 Coffee Vs EK43 Turkish:
If you are looking for a grinder for precision filter on pro equipment, you need the Coffee Burr version, NOT this Turkish burr version. If you are looking for a grinder to work with espresso coffee methods, this IS the correct version for you.
NOTE: EK43 Turkish burrs simply do not grind course enough for filter, falling just short of what a most course filter methods require (Chemex, Kalita etc).
